-9th grade: begin reading ATDPTI, do dream drawing activity sheet and journal

-10th grade: go over graphic novel reading sheet, then discuss Islamic Revolution article, go over Persepolis reading expectations, then begin reading!

10th grade:

-Pages 1-32 comprehension check

-Continue Reading (you must be to page 61 by Monday)

-Turn in 1 filled sheet of your Persepolis Journal, with at list 6 items in each column, by the end of class today

 
-Finish your big final project for either Of Mice and Men or Macbeth. You have 6-7 options to choose from, and you must choose one (Honors grade 10, you must do two, but you can work with a partner for your 2nd one). This needs to be turned into me before winter break unless you have made arrangements.

-Finish reading the text if you have not done so.

-Turn in the book vs. movie guide if you have not done so.

-On Friday, you'll have the opportunit to do an extra credit crossword testing your knowledge of the text--turn this in by the end of the hour.

-Have a safe and happy winter break!

9th grade 11/30: Step up presentation, end of book notecard prediction--"How do you think the book will end for George, Lennie, Curly, and Curly's wife? Tell what you think will happen to each character at the end of the book. I'll return this notecard to you at the end of the book to see if you're right.", turn in all 1 pagers, continue to read Of Mice and Men

-2 One Pagers due on Monday. 1/2 Page journal, then continue reading the text. Catch up time (extra credit, essay and voicethread)
-Make sure you do some independent reading over break.

Monday 11/29:
-2 One Pagers due. Reading workshop in the media center. Third one pager OR a book recommendation due at the end of the hour.
 
Thursday 9th grade: Of Mice and Men facebook profile project. Due at end of hour. For extra credit do a second profile.

Thursday 10th grade: Read "Macbeth Curse" article, be active readers to get full points, turn in at the end of the hour. Complete the accompanying worksheet due at the end of the hour. 5th hour extra credit: create your own Macbeth curse story. 6th hour required: create your own Macbeth curse story.

Friday 9th grade: Journal: Reflecting on Wednesday's 4 Corners Activity. Continue reading Of Mice and Men in class. Then, catch up time with opportunity for extra credit if you are all caught up.

Friday 10th grade: Reflecting on Wednesday's 4 Corners Activity. Begin reading Macbeth--Read Act I Scene I, Scene II, and Scene III. Then, catch up time with opportunity for extra credit if you are all caught up.

Reminder: If your voicethread project is not done or your essay is not done, you NEED to find a time on your own to come in and finish it!!!!!!!!!
 
-Monday 11/15: Quiz on Flocabulary songs 1 and 2, reading workshop in media center, finish up VoiceThreads (if these are still not finished, you must finish them on your own time and submit them to me by the end of the week)

-Tuesday 11/16: View selected video clips for new text (Of Mice and Men for grade 9, Macbeth for grade 10), PowerPoint presentation about text and author, create "Top 10" notes for slide show and turn in, 9th grade began reading Of Mice and Men and 10th grade created 4 MCA style questions based on powerpoint info and will begin reading Macbeth tomorrow

-Wednesday 11/17: 4 Corners Activity to get you thinking about the themes in the book, then journal about one of the 4 Corners topics. 9th grade continues to read Of Mice and Men, 10th grade discusses the 4 "Before You Read" questions and the Act summary, and then begins reading the play!

-Monday: Reading Workshop in the media center. Media center scavenger hunt and questionnaire due at the end of the hour

-Tuesday-Friday: Finish final draft of essay, create VoiceThread project for an audiovisual representation of essay. VoiceThread project due by the end of class on Friday. See me for a VoiceThread project handout. In short, you will create a VoiceThread account, find relevant pictures online (Google Images is a great site) for every 3-ish sentences in your essay, upload them to VoiceThread, then use the laptop mics to record your essay over the slides of your pictures. Then, set your VoiceThread to public and send the link to me.

-Flocabulary for the week: Week 2 of Muhammad Ali Flocab words. See me for the packet, which was due Thursday. Also, there is an extra credit Flocab sheet that was also due Thursday.

-On Monday you'll have a comprehensive quiz for all of the Flocab words we've had so far (4 weeks). See me for a set of flashcards to study with as well as a list of all of the words with definitions.

-Honors: Stay on top of your memos!
